San Bernardino County Environmental Health Services expands food safety training to include camps and sporting events.
San Bernardino County Environmental Health has launched two new food safety training programs, tailored to unique groups of food handlers. The first is to teach food safety to those serving food at camps. The second highlights the important principles of food safety at sporting events. Both of these programs were created in partnership with StateFoodSafety.com, who currently also provides online food handler training for the county.
Since 2011, San Bernardino has been working with StateFoodSafety.com to provide food handler training online for its food workers. The convenience of online training has allowed residents with transportation or time constraints to obtain their official food handler card online rather than travel to a classroom. The training is offered in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Serbo-Croation, and American Sign Language.
