The Benefits of eLearning

eLearning is a term that has become quite commonplace in recent decades. According to Google’s Ngram tool, there has been a huge spike in the term’s usage since 1995. This is far from puzzling, though, as the heart of eLearning is tied to computers, the internet, and an ever-increasing population engaged in technology. Simply put, eLearning can be defined as learning achieved electronically.

Due to its newness and surging popularity, eLearning has received its fair share of criticisms. Skeptics have traditionally pointed at the lack of human-to-human interaction as a weak spot in this methodology, along with varying levels of technological devices and understanding. Fortunately, most of the fear behind the skepticism vanished as time marched into the new millennium and once-reluctant students took to computers and other electronic devices for a convenient and effective learning experience.

This method of learning has been implemented not only in traditional academic settings, but in various industries as well. Food safety education, for example, has been greatly enhanced with the presence of eLearning. There is evidence that shows that eLearning simulations provide 20% higher confidence on the job. Whether someone is looking to prepare for a nationally-accredited certification or if he or she is just looking to brush up on policies and procedures, eLearning can certainly meet the student’s needs.

At StateFoodSafety, we pride ourselves on providing “A Better Learning Experience” for all students. Using our proprietary Learning Management System, students can take courses at their own pace, process information through their unique learning styles, and actually retain more of what they learn than through traditional classroom settings.

If you’ve never experienced eLearning, we invite you to start with the best and find your food safety training solution at www.statefoodsafety.com!
