Why is food allergen training important for food service managers in Michigan?

Food allergens can cause severe reactions in individuals with food allergies. By receiving proper training, food service managers can ensure the safety of their customers by preventing cross-contamination, understanding labeling requirements and effectively responding to allergen-related incidents. Michigan Food Law Act 92 requires most food establishments to have a certified food manager with additional allergens training on staff.

How long is my certificate valid?

Your Food Allergy Awareness Training for Manager Certificate is valid for five years from the course completion date. You will need to retake the course every five years to renew your certificate.
